Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to instill individual creativity into my students. It is o.k. to want to sound like, or play like your heros, but I like to see them take what they learn from them and take it further.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Work is the best teacher, the more you practice, the easier it becomes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. At my home I charge $25.00 per 30 min. lessons. If I come to them it's $30.00. Hour lessons are double.
How did you get started teaching?
I substitute taught here and was placed in a more permenent roll as music teacher when the teacher I replaced was promoted. I kind of enjoyed it!
What types of students have you worked with?
You name it! Young to Old. Never too old to learn.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently completed a course of study at B.R C.C. in Entertainment Technology, or Audio Engineering to some.
I made freinds with a classmate of mine who happened to be a singer in a local Metal band. Now I follow him and the band online and atten his shows when I can.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be patient and listen. Ask good qyestions, but pay attention to their answers.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Only 1. Are you ready to commit? Practice makes perfect, so you have to put in the time. No way around it.
