About

Marc is an incredibly skilled musician. He can play blues, acoustic folk/rock, classical, and jazz with the best of them. But as a teacher, that is not enough. You have to have the expertise plus the unique skills necessary to pass along your knowledge. You can’t teach someone based on what you know now; you have to remember how you learned what you know now. He has come to learn the best ways to teach someone to play and to express their musicality, without thinking about it.

You will not find a better guitar teacher than Marc Dobriner. It bears repeating that I highly recommend him for anyone at any level.....

Marc Dobriner taught me how to play guitar like a real guitarist. I highly recommend him as a teacher. We focused on electric guitar blues and rock, but what I learned I now apply to all genres of guitar music. I would say that it was doubly hard for him because he had to un-teach me the wrong way that I had taught myself over the years, but no. All I had to do was follow what he showed me and the bad ways melted away. His teaching sessions are a pleasure. Marc shows you how to play by making it a joy, not boring rote practice. And it worked great for me.

Marc is a wonderful teacher who can work with the very young and the not-so-young (I'm 58). Every lesson I had opened a new door of musical knowledge, from blues, to rock, country and jazz. His wisdom and insight, as well as his ability to convey his ideas to the student are a bargain to anyone interested in playing guitar at any lev

Marc gave me guitar lessons for about a year or more. It was a great experience for me as I began to understand what I was doing and improve greatly. It would have helped me more if I would have practiced more. Since then, however, I have gone on to play in several professional bands and I play bass and occasional guitar regularly in the New Orleans area. Thanks so much Marc
