    Frequently asked questions

It normally depends on the context, goals, deficits, etc. The advantage to supplementing a student's practice with individual instruction which I advocate for, means that more attention to detail in regards to technique can be addressed. For beginner students this is especially helpful as to not instill bad habits that might cause a performance injury or limitations in the future.

By all means contact me and I can forward over a copy of my resume. Most importantly, I have a lvl. 1 music education certification K-12 with the state of Louisiana and a BME from Loyola University New Orleans. Any of this information I can forward a copy over if necessary.

**MM in Guitar Performance as of 12/23

My rate right now is 50/hr. at my studio, and 20/hr. for virtual lessons. I do accept Venmo, Chase Quickpay, and of course Cash. All lessons are pre-booked. Can only reschedule lessons if notified 48 hrs in advance.

I'm a fourth generation teacher and I've had a passion for music my whole life. Though I prepared to teach music in larger school settings my performance career and education since then has pushed me more towards building a guitar studio of my own.

I've worked with younger students, which definitely can require certain considerations (instrument scale, parental guidance, pacing of lesson, etc.) it can be done, though I typically recommend lessons to students 5-8 if they show an immense interest in the instrument. Likewise this holds true as well for most kids/students in general who might be older. I try to balance content in this regards with all students, depending on the individual goals (subject to change) my goal is to provide the student with the optimal resources to push for that- whether it's some Carcassi or we're learning the blues, won't always be easy but we'll put in the work to get there👍

Had a student of mine perform a piece at our weekly forum class it was their first performance I was really proud!

Credentials matter and you get what you pay for. If someone's trying to teach you songs vs. the actual inner mechanics of the music you're spinning your wheels.

Mindfulness matters, thoughtful practice matters. Just ask! teachers should be an open book👍
