How did you get started teaching?
My parents started me on Suzuki violin in 1966. I participated in many music ensembles and events throughout my childhood, joining GBYSO in 1978 and touring Europe. In college, I studied Music, specifically Jazz, Composition, Ethnomusicology, Electronic Music and Violin performance. After college, I joined the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Keene Chamber Orchestra. My duo, Fiddle Hill performed in a world music festival in Egypt, and toured Ireland, Canada and the US in the early 20s. In addition to music, I develop websites and social media platforms for musicians and ensembles.

I work primarily with adults 18 and over and specialize in working with people with special needs
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was thrilled to organize and be a part of a concert by Mandolin New England, a 501c3 nonprofit mandolin orchestra
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you're ready to put in at least 30 minutes of practice each day. You'll need a quiet place in your home to practice and attend online lessons.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The mandolin is a versatile and beautiful instrument that is perfect for adults of all skill levels. In just a few short lessons, you can learn to play your favorite songs and impress your friends and family. Plus, learning to play the mandolin can help improve your coordination, focus, and memory.
