About

My teaching approach:

I approach from the point of the student weather teaching, piano, guitar or bass. I'm a music education and composition major at Westfield State University. Those concentrations along with Jazz are my main tools. What do students want to learn and where are they trying to get with their playing. I like to teach through songs/tunes/pieces. I feel that you learn by just playing a lot of different music.

My influences are:

Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Pat Martino, John Zorn, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, John Mayer, Eric Clapton.

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:

Chicopee, MA, Westfeld, MA or Nearby Areas

Guitar Techniques:

Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I typically see where they are playing level by listening to them play, but usually I'll discuss their favorite music and if they've never played before than that's for the best. Starting at square one is almost easier, but a well versed player can always learn something new.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

This all depends on the student. If a student wants to learn theory and to improvise, it might take a different shape than if someone is a singer songwriter or if someone just plays guitar for fun.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

A student that shows up every week having practiced.
