About
Amy Carol Branum is an internationally respected master teacher, composer, author, and clinician in the field of Music Education who trained at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Holy Names University, and the VoiceCare Network at Saint John's University. In addition to over fifty years of experience teaching piano and voice students of all ages in her large private voice studio, she has founded/directed a master's degree program for music educators, taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Methodology and Musicianship, and for many years taught singing to children as a vocal music teacher, choral ensemble director, and musical theater director.
The Amy Carol Branum Music Studio in the historic Guilford neighborhood in Baltimore City consistently produces artist-musician-scholars of the highest caliber as well as skilled amateur musicians. The piano curriculum includes classical performance skill development, music reading, technique work, music theory, and repertoire ranging from Baroque to Contemporary. The voice curriculum includes sight singing/ear training, music theory, healthy vocal production, artistic interpretation, singer's diction in English, Italian, French, German and Latin, and repertoire including opera, art song, folk song, musical theater, and jazz.
Instruction in folk instruments including recorder, Appalachian dulcimer, guitar, ukulele, and five-string banjo is also available.
