Meg's Violin Studio
About
Having a solid foundation (in violin lessons, proper bow technique, posture, left-hand coordination, and strong sight-reading skills) goes a long way! While getting there may take a little while, once you master the skills you need, we can explore different genres/styles of music. The possibility is endless.
Each student is unique and different. That means if I give the same song to 10 different students, there would be 10 different interpretations of the song! And that's what I enjoy about teaching and something I look forward to.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson would be mainly observation, feedback, and planning for a student who has already taken lessons before. For someone who has never taken lessons before, 1) I would experiment with which shoulder rest would be most appropriate for the student, 2) cover proper violin hold and posture, 3) show how to hold the bow.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in violin performance from University of Maryland Baltimore County, and I am currently in school for music therapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. It is $35.00/30-minute lesson, and $70.00 for an hour-long lesson.
