Learn the basics of jazz improvisation, jazz theory, jazz harmony, and jazz styles in a relaxed and comfortable private studio setting in Columbia, MD.
Students will gain the knowledge and the skills necessary to play piano in a church, jazz trio, big band, small group, or for solo piano.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I give a free consultation to assess the potential student's skill level and to see if I am the best teacher to serve them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music. I performed and toured with the Army Jazz Ambassadors, the official touring band of the Army, for 20 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For individual lessons $100 an hour/$50 for 30 minutes. I also offer packages at discounted rates.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at a summer music camp when I was a student in college. Years later, I started my own business teaching piano lessons out of my home.

Mostly high school students that wanted to pursue music as a career.

Do your research and ask questions to find the best teacher for you.
