I have been playing the piano since a young girl and have taught and played music in many settings including overseas. I have experience with children having raised four children and having taught in school and in private. My studio is in my living room with a warm family atmoshphere. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take young beginners when they can read. I like to use the "Piano Adventures" method books but tailor the lessons with other resources according to the student's abilities; incorporating improv and eartraining. Older students and transfer students I seek to find out what their goals may be and what they would like. But I always include some the classics and theory and technique.
