About
Hello! I am a piano teacher and professional pianist in the Washington, D.C. area, based in Frederick, MD. I have been teaching piano for over 10 years. I believe that music is an art form that can bring joy and depth to a person for a lifetime. I am passionate about helping students of all ages and skill levels discover their passion for music. I believe that learning music should be fun and enjoyable, and I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment for all of my students.
To me, music is a means of expression that transcends the boundaries of words. It is my deepest conviction that everyone has the potential to be a musician, and I strive to unlock this potential in each and every one of my students. My approach to teaching is grounded in the belief that the best way to learn is by doing, and so I tailor my lessons to suit the individual needs and styles of each student. In addition to teaching, I am an accomplished classical pianist, accompanist and church musician who has performed throughout the D.C. area.
I have been working as a professional pianist since I was fifteen years old. I graduated from Hood College in 2011 with a B.A. in Music (Piano Performance) and was a recipient of the Patricia Bucheimer Piano Prize. I was under scholarship as a student in the Honors Program and a Maryland Distinguished Scholar. Currently, I work as the Staff Pianist at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville and teach piano in Frederick, MD and Rockville, MD.
I am currently accepting new students for both in-person and virtual lessons.
