1) Lessons are taught by a Steinway Artist, Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas, winner of international piano competitions, and a graduate of both the Juilliard School and the Paris Conservatory;
2) Dr. Minkstimas is a performing artist, concert pianist, resident artist of the Embassy Series and the Phillips Collection Music Series festivals in Washington, D.C.;
3) Dr. Minkstimas is thoroughly familiar with all methods of developing piano technique, repertory, classical and modern and is able to accommodate students of any level;
4) Dr. Minkstimas designs a study course for each individual student, based on student's needs and goals;

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During the first lesson Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas usually evaluates each new potential student, by asking questions about their previous music studies experience, as well as some questions related to basic/intermediate/advanced music theory. Students are welcome to play a selection of their choice, although this step is optional and only serves to help during the evaluation process. Based on the evaluation, Dr. Minkstimas suggests study method/material and briefly outlines potential study course.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically the cost of lessons with Dr. Minkstimas is the following:
- $100/hour
-$75/45 minutes
-$50/30 minutes
Students are asked to pay for a four-lesson cycle in advance. Re-scheduling is allowed, but no last-minute cancellations are accepted.

2001 - 2007 Assistant to the Chair of the Piano Department at the Lithuanian Academy of Music;

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students should seek to study with someone, who is an accomplished musician, performing artist and has top credentials in his or her field;
Professional pianist, pedagogue, must be able to sight-read and play any piece that a potential student brings to him/her;
Teacher must be a mentor, an inspiring figure, a coach, and always ready to answer student's questions or concerns;
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should reflect on their goals and willingness to follow-up on homework assignments and teacher's advice;
Students must be open to constructive criticism, but at the same time prepare their own questions for each lesson. Student's question help the teacher understand the thought process of the student and thus make the teaching process more efficient.
