Jonah is an amazing teacher. In one months worth of lessons my guitar knowledge, and playing skyrocketed to the next level. Jonah not only teaches whatever it is you want to learn, but also incorporates the music theory behind it all so you can understand what it takes to write your own songs and just play better. I’ve wanted to be a rockstar for a long time and Stepping Stone studios is helping me achieve that goal (even if I’ll only be a rockstar for my dog and my girlfriend). Thanks, Jonah!

Jonah is amazing! He has worked with all three of my children who have very different learning styles. He is patient and creative. He meets the students where they are at and taps into their interest to keep them wanting to learn more. He has taught my kids amazing skills within guitar. They have far exceeded my expectations and have become wonderful musicians. He lets them learn songs in genres that interest them most. We are so pleased with our lessons and look forward to our continued work with him!

    Frequently asked questions

When starting off with guitar lessons, the student will be introduced to the guitar itself, then how to read standard music notation. Finger exercises and scales are also provided for the student to warm up and practice routinely in order to build up dexterity and strength. The style of the student will be honed in and the lessons become more of a personalized experience. All lessons are given with the intent of enjoyment and appreciation for music.

I have been trained by numerous local music instructors with many decades of experience. Such influential musicians have shown me many different styles of not only music but instruction. I have also been trained for 25+ years of personal instruction, where a style may need to vary for the benefit of the student.

My pricing system for lessons is as follows:
    In Studio Price:

    $30 - 30 min. lesson; $60 - 1 hr. lesson

    Online Video Lessons -

    $30 - 30 min. lesson; $60 - 1 hr. lesson

I started being asked by friends and neighbors to give a few lessons and then my clientele grew and grew. Years later, the studio was opened where we now offer lessons, recording services and sell instruments, equipment and accessories.

I have worked with students as young as pre-school age to grown adults who have decided to finally learn music during their retirement. I have also taught students who are from foreign countries and displayed how music is really a universal language.

I had the privilege of teaching a young teen from Ukraine who only spoke Russian. I prepared thoroughly to teach him as effectively as possible which included learning enough Russian to get him started on his musical journey.  To see his appreciation and love of music grow made all the preparation worthwhile.

Look for a teacher who is always willing to listen to your needs and be willing to adapt to your style of learning.

Why do I want to learn?

How much am I willing to practice?

What are my short term goals and long term goals towards learning?
