Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is learn the new student's musical interests and goals. Then, based on their current ability, I design a custom program to help them achieve these goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. degree in Music Performance from Westmar College in Iowa and continuing music education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In addition I have been composing, performing and teaching music for over 40 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lesson prices are $26 for 30 minutes, $39 for 45 minutes and $52 for 60 minutes. These prices are effective after the student's video conferencing setup has been tested and verified.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a trumpet player in high school and never stopped pursuing my love of music.
What types of students have you worked with?
Hundreds of students from inexperienced children as young as 6 to adult professionals wanting to improve their musical skills.
