We are a small, but erudite studio specializing in the beginner to advanced, young or adult. Our goal is to instill a refined but practical technique. An emphasis is placed on the joy in playing the piano with finesse. Whether you love the classics, or prefer to explore other genres like New Rock or Jazz, our studio is backed by years of intense technical study, performance and pedagogy.
Also, we happen to be a very ‘equal opportunity’ studio ~ where lessons are afforded to all. Call us to inquire about our lesson rates as well as our “sliding-scale fee”, based on income level. We do not over-charge, but rather delight in the fact that everyone can afford to learn music.
Since I've been classically trained, I enjoy imparting the same refined technique instilled in me under the tutelage of. Dr. Wilhelmina Pouget of Chicago. This is to afford the student the ability to play and interpret music with energy and ease, making the performance both accurate and fully enjoyable.
I enjoy the beginner, as he/she has an unspoiled hand, one that hasn't been imbued with a bad technique. The unfortunate results can be a stiffness, subsequent inacuracy and lack of enjoyment. Under good technical guidance, the student's work and play is supple and lithe. Anything is possible, and playing becomes a most enjoyable ease of expression.
