About
I like to customized each lesson to the individualized student. We're all different and shouldn't have to fit into a mold. I use a lot of Victor Wooten's teaching philosophies. I also like to have students playing their favorite songs right from the beginning.
I love it when discoveries are made. Accidently playing a "wrong" note can lead to new musical creations.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the beginning, I ask lots of questions in order to get to know the student and their goals. I use this information to customize our lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have spent several years playing music in bands, on worship teams, and writing and performing music with my wife. I have been a music teacher on Outschool.com since 2020.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The standard rate in most places is $1 per minute. So for a thirty minute class, I charge $30.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching friends and family locally until I found Outschool.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all skill levels and personality types. I have taught children as young as 5 and adults as old as 70. I have also worked with people having physical and/or mental limitations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A guitar student of mine was trying to play an Am7 chord. With a wrong finger placement, we discovered the "A minor major 7th" chord and wrote a whole song around it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say try to match personalities. I like to laugh a lot and crack jokes and talk a little philosophy.
