Alex is the best! He’s professional, he’s kind, and he tailors every lesson to the individual student. My son looks forward to his lesson every week, and he’s learned so much in such a short time! I’d recommend Alex to anybody looking for a great guitar teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

If the student wants to learn classical guitar, I teach out of the Aaron Shearer method book. Otherwise I work from what the student is interested in learning and teach I feel will help them acomplish their goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance from Middle Tenneseee State University.

-Several years teaching experience

-Currently pursuing a masters degree in classical guitar performance

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

30$ for a half hour

40$ for an hour

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching my first student in my second year of college. The parent recommended me to other parents in the area and I eventually got a job teaching a guitar class for high school age students. As I've traveled for school I've maintained a number of students of many different ages.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've had students of all a wide array of ages and backgrounds.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What kind of music do I like?

Am I going to play guitar casually or am I going to pursue a career in music?
