Working with Brian is a lot of fun and I’m getting to be a better guitar player much faster than I was before, working on my own watching YouTube videos and reading tabs online. I strongly recommend him as his teaching is clear, and effective.

Brian is exactly what I was looking for in a teacher. He took a few lessons to dial in on my skill level and learning style and then feeds me great information and practice. He also send emails with summaries and training information. He’s great. Highly recommend Brian.

Brian helps me to learn the guitar fretboard in a fun and simple way. His diagrams and ideas of tackling the many ways to be able to solo and create music can help anyone from beginning to advanced, I’ve learned how to better utilize and understand the guitar through his was of teaching. I look forward to seeing him every week.

Brian helped me become more proficient to learn and play songs. Before when working on my own I never knew how to start figuring out songs. Brian made it fun and my confidence and playing has improved a lot.

    Frequently asked questions

First I have to find out what your current level of ability is. We will run through a few hand training exercises, which will tell me where you are at with spatial learning and music training.
I've been playing rock and blues guitar for over 50 years. I've had many teachers along the way but much of my learning comes from being able to learn music by ear. Experience - I've been in several Cover, Tribute and Worship Bands over the last 20 years. On an annual basis I have to learn about 100+ songs year so I'm very experienced in learning quickly and then showing my Students how to do the same. I read tabs and also use my ears to learn rhythm and solos. I can replicate many well known guitarists and bands from 1960's - 2000's. I watch other guitarists daily to get inspiration and to observe their methods of playing. The more well-rounded I am the better I can adapt to different styles of playing and techniques. Alternate Picking - Sweep Picking - Hybrid Picking - Finger Picking - String Skipping - Palm Muting - Hammer Ons - Pullouts - Tapping - Fretboard Memorization - Soloing - Phrasing - Replicating Tone of your favorite guitarists - Power Chords - Arpeggios - Bar Chords - Pinch and secondary Harmonics I also make it a point to practice improvisation daily. So I can spontaneously play without giving it a thought. I practice and teach about 6 hours per day. I am VERY ACCUSTOMED to LEARN QUICKLY. I'lll teach you the same method I use to keep my playing constantly evolving.
I typically work with Students on an HOURLY basis. Most students meet with me every 1-2 weeks. I have found this gets great results. However, depending upon your situation and availability I can adjust to accommodate your needs.
My love and passion for Rock Guitar fuel my enjoyment teaching others. Watching a Student grow and do things they never thought possible makes it all worthwhile. As a young student I struggled finding teachers that could teach me that blues and rock guitar licks I heard on records. Over the years, I've been lucky to find a few amazing teachers who showed me how to keep improving my playing to a High Level. About 30 years ago I learned a method of practice that I still use to this day. It was handed down to me from a teacher who learned from one of the Most Famous & Best Guitarists on the planet. I'll tell you who that is once we meet. How to play impossible solos and learn how to understand and play songs from Strat to finish.
I've worked with Students as young as 8 years old to 75 years old. I've had great results with any age range. As long as your desire to get better is there and you're willing to put in the practice necessary, I can make you a great guitarist.
Hire someone who will actually take the time to help you become better, not just feed your exercises or lessons.
How much can you reasonable practice every week? To become good or great on guitar takes patience and practice. I've found that students who can commit to 15-30 min per day will see a huge improvement in their playing ability and confidence. Even if you've never played guitar before, within 6 months - 1 years you will be quite accomplished.
