Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We treat each student as an individual so no two lessons are the same. At your first lesson the instructor will introduce a variety of music and theory concepts to assess not only your current abilities but the rate at which you may progress. We will also spend some time getting to know our students and what kind of music they are interested in playing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At our studio we currently have 10 active instructors with various music educational backgrounds and experience. We will pair up our students with the instructor tjat best matches them based on the students age/level/personality as well as the students scheduling needs. Our instructors are available to substitute as needed so there are rarely any lessons cancelled or rescheduled due to instructor absences. With our variety of instructors it also ensures that our students get the best possible instruction to suit their needs!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$131.25 per month, weekly 30 minute lesson
We also have group classes for $25-$65/month.
How did you get started teaching?
Arioso Music Academy started in Grand Forks ND 9 years ago. It is a family owned and operated business that is still enriching the lives of its students today. Robin Riveland first opened Arioso Music Academy in Grand Forks and spread her love for music onto her children who have now opened Arioso Music Academy Bismarck to continue sharing our passion for music with the ND communities!
What types of students have you worked with?
Our instructors have experience working with students of all ages from 0-100 and abilities from beginner to professional. Our instructors are also experienced and comfortable working with students who may have any physical, mental, or learning disabilities. We treat each student as an individual and create our lessons around each students needs!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
At Arioso we understand the importance of keeping the fun in music! We always ensure our students leave our lessons having a good experience with a stress free regimen. We have seen many students take years of piano only to quit once their parents allow them to quit because they do nkt find it fun anymore. We have also had many teenage students switch to us from their other instructors that they have worked with for years because they had been too overwhelmed and stressed with the rigorous training from their previous instructors. If you are a student looking for rigorous training and wanting to compete in festival then great! We would love to help you succeed and see you become the best musician you can be. If you are a student looking to fuel your passion for music in a positive, stress free environment then great! We would also love to help you succeed and see you be the best musician you can be!
