About
Background
In 2020, amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I retired from a rewarding career in computer software development. Since 1978, Nebraska has been the heart of my family's journey. We've lived in Lincoln and Omaha, spent some time in Washington State, and now call Plattsmouth home. I’m grateful for 44 wonderful years of marriage to my wife, and together, we’re blessed with four daughters and seven amazing grandchildren.
Passion
My love for classical guitar began at age 14 and has remained a constant source of joy in my life. While I’ve shared some performances on YouTube through church events, I’ve generally steered clear of social media. In retirement, my goal is to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years, and I’m excited to finally make that dream come true. It’s never too late to start learning! For those who are retired, this is a deeply fulfilling way to spend your time. For younger students, all inquiries must be made through a responsible adult.
Our Mission
At Uncle Bob Guitar, our purpose is to inspire musicians of all ages to explore the artistry of classical guitar and more. Whether lessons are in-person or online, each session is carefully tailored to be engaging, personalized, and enriching. Together, we’ll grow your music-reading skills and cultivate your passion for playing guitar.
Using proven classical guitar techniques, I’ll help you build a solid foundation that can transition seamlessly into any musical genre you’re interested in. Payment plans are flexible—choose weekly, monthly, or custom options that best suit your needs. Reach out, leave a message, and I’ll work with you to create an arrangement that’s ideal for you.
Requirements
We welcome music enthusiasts who are truly passionate about the guitar. Whether your interests lie in singing, jazz, gospel, or blues, we’ll start by building a strong classical guitar foundation to learn music-reading fundamentals. We require underage students to be accompanied by a reliable adult for all communication and cost negotiations. If your goal is just to learn one song and move on, we may not be the best fit.
How to Start
Kick off your musical journey with a complimentary, personalized 60-minute session. Weekday evenings and Saturdays are perfect for scheduling—let’s find a time that works for you! Feel free to call, text, or message me to book your first lesson.
Although online lessons are available, priority is given to students within a 40-mile radius of Plattsmouth, Nebraska. For the best learning experience, I recommend starting with two face-to-face sessions.
Let’s embark on this exciting journey together—making music a meaningful part of your life! 🎸 I can’t wait to jam with you!
