My son began taking guitar lessons from Josh when he was 11 years old. Immediately I saw many things return in my sons life: his ability to sing, his willingness to perform for others, and his love for Jesus. Josh was more than an instructor, he was like a big brother to my son. He generously shared his own gifts, gently challenged my son and then encouraged him to go out and change the world. Theres no doubt in my mind his influences were taken to heart. Now 16, he is playing for Jesus & church and we couldnt be more proud. Thank you Josh, we are your biggest fans!

Frequently asked questions

Congratulations! Each of you is unique! I will start with "Why do you want to learn guitar?"...

And then I can build from there!

Usually I've found there's a heart connect for the musician on why they want to learn an instrument. They heard John Mayer, AC/DC, or watched August Rush and got touched by the music. Sense it started in the heart, I won't start with heavy Music Theory. I will give you what you need to play music!

With that being said, I realize that we are building a foundation. I consider it a priviledge and an honor to work with you in your beginning phase! We will build a great foundation! I have a HIGH value for connecting your heart also with great technique. My hope would be that you would feel more in your heart than stressed with the technique!

***I am not a vocal teacher BUT I have helped people learn how to play and sing at the same time! I LOVE THAT! I'm a really good encourager.

Anything I've done has been getting to know the person and meeting them where they are at. I've been playing guitar for about 10 years now. Friends and family would be like would you teach me guitar! And I'd be like, Ok! I've seen great results  with my anyone I've helped so far.

I was a Worship Leader for 6 years (ish). That helped me learn about people. How to lead a team. And how the instruments work together!

        Group Lessons:

*Same rate* BUT lots of fun if you're learning with a friend! My first lessons were in 6th grade. My buddy got a guitar and I'm like, "I wanna guitar" LOL. His dad taught us. It was cool becuase we could all jam and we were competitve at the same time, ya know see who was better lol

"BRO YOU PLAY GUITAR!"

"Dude how'd you play that?"

"You play guitar, could you help me with some stuff?"

Annndd I said yes!

-From ages 10 to Late 30's.

-People who've never touched a guitar

-Could play a little but want help in playing a whole song

-Want to sing and play guitar at the same time!

Just Yesterday (Oct 1st) my 12 yr old brother was straight killin' it playing on his Middle School football team. He was playing Defensive End and had at least 1 sack and 3 tackles. He also got to play some quarterback, which he did alright at! *Caleb if you're reading this I love you lol

Know what YOU want!

Nothing worse than showin' up for a lesson and the teacher isn't even listening to what you want to learn. They just give you stuff that they want you to learn. LAME

Does the teacher match the skill level of what you want to learn?

Ex: I am a GREAT Beginnger guitar teacher taking people on their way to Intermediate. My strength is not in already established players.

*My Opinion/Only done WITH permission from students*

Are they willing to let you contact current/previous students and ask what they liked or didn't like about the teachers style? His strengths and weaknesses? Do there students like them? LOL

Why do I want to learn guitar?

How soon do I want to be able to know ____ by? *The Teacher then can help gauge what's a good goal.

Thanks for reading! :)
