I would love to help you learn the violin! With over ten years of experience teaching students as young as 3 all the way up to somewhere in the 70's, I tailor the learning experience to your needs, goals, and musical tast. I am classically trained and hold a Master's degree in Performance, but I also grew up in Appalachia and love to fiddle!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically for young students, I work from the Suzuki method. I was brought up a suzuki kid, and have done teacher training in the method.
For adult students, I keep the concepts of Suzuki training, but we often vear off to accomidate repertoire desires of the students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master's degree in Violin performance. In undergrad I did a musicology intensive at the University of Oxford, and have done several continuing education courses over the years at Carnegie Hall and various Suzuki Institutes.
