Henry Bloomfield Music
About
Greetings! I am a 32 year old music composer/producer/piano teacher, living in Manhattan. I graduated from Oberlin College and later attended Berklee College of Music to pursue a professional degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. I played keyboard on a national hip hop tour, with Hoodie Allen, lived in South Korea for two years, pursuing my music career, and have collaborated with the likes of Baz Luhrmann, Amanda Ghost, Deva Mahal, and Scott Hoffman (Scissor Sisters).
Given the many music experiences I've had with different people in different places over the years, the two main things that I'm always most drawn to, when working with students, are passion and professionalism. I'm always aware of the very subtle yet significant difference between dedicating one's life to music and maintaining it simply as a hobby. Music is my life, first and foremost, and I believe that the care that I put into my own music is easily transferrable to the teaching context. I look forward to sharing music ideas, techniques, and skills with excited learners!
I would be happy to hear from any music students who are interested in piano lessons, songwriting/composition, music theory/ear training, or production techniques.
