Hello! I am a student at New York University currently working on my BM in Music Education. Currently, I am a signed recording artist with Broadway Records and have recorded three new albums for new musicals (see NY Times, Broadway World). I have 12 years of piano experience and teach beginners piano. I have 8 years of flute experience and was a principal flutist for the nationally recognized Klein Symphony Orchestra. I can teach beginner to intermediate flute. Willing to travel to my students in the NYC-Manhattan/Jersey City area for a small extra fee. Contact me for scheduling details.
I love being able to inspire people to find their passions in music. Even if it doesn't become something that they stick with forever, it's nice to be part of someone's artistic journey, and it's even better to be able to teach them how to further themselves in that artform.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to ensure that I get to know my students and work with their needs and goals. After assessing skill level, I usually begin with something the student feels confident with before assisting them in higher level repertoire and exercises.

$40/hour
One hour lessons once a week are encouraged in order to maximize the student's potential for growth and performance in the next lesson, but please feel free to schedule a time and length that best fits your schedule.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in high school after I was selected to be a drum major for my high school's band. As a drum major, I was required to teach new students marching techniques and assist in music memorization and technique. Now, I am studying to become a future classroom music director.
What types of students have you worked with?
My piano students are generally beginner level students. I can work with students of all ages for flute lessons. I would prefer to work with beginner vocal students or students going the musical theatre route.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently adopted a sweet little cat named Kayak! She's my baby, and I love her so much.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you feel like a teacher does not work for you, do not feel pressured to stick with them. No teacher teaches the same way, and it's important to find a teacher that you trust to nurture your talent, because the right teacher can show you how truly magical music can be.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do they want to take away from lessons?
What do they want me to be for them? Just a teacher? A teacher and a friend? A supporter?
