What is your typical process for working with a new student?

It is very simple to get started at DMA. Once we know your interests we identify possible teacers and arrange a lesson time based on mutual availabilty. Each teacher assesses their students skill level and interests and together choose their first piece of music.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our teachers have either college and university musical degress or extensive experience teaching and performing or both!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

30 - minute lessons: $38

45 - minute lessons: $55

60 - minute lessons: $70

60 - minute group classes: $38

Ensemble classes: $28 - 38

How did you get started teaching?

All of our faculty members got started in their own way but have come to greatly appreciate the rewards of teaching which is what brings them to DMA.

What types of students have you worked with?

We work with students of all ages and skill levels who are dedicated and excited to learn.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Its a great idea to meet them first and get a sense of their personality. Ask any questions that seem important to you even if you don't have musical expertise. A good teacher will be able to explain what they do clearly to anyone.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Its most important to know the level of commitment a student is ready to make and to find a teacher with the same dedication.
