About
Denville Music Academy offers first rate musical instruction to ambitious students of all ages and skill levels. We offer regular public performances to our students and are developing a curriculum for students who wish to pursue advanced skill levels and certifications (beginning in fall 2017).
It is deeply gratifying to see the satisfaction and confidence our students gain from the results of their dedication and hard work. We know that musical acheivement benefits every student in many areas of their life beyod music and we are grateful for the opportunity to mentor each of our students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is very simple to get started at DMA. Once we know your interests we identify possible teacers and arrange a lesson time based on mutual availabilty. Each teacher assesses their students skill level and interests and together choose their first piece of music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers have either college and university musical degress or extensive experience teaching and performing or both!

How did you get started teaching?
All of our faculty members got started in their own way but have come to greatly appreciate the rewards of teaching which is what brings them to DMA.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students of all ages and skill levels who are dedicated and excited to learn.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Its a great idea to meet them first and get a sense of their personality. Ask any questions that seem important to you even if you don't have musical expertise. A good teacher will be able to explain what they do clearly to anyone.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Its most important to know the level of commitment a student is ready to make and to find a teacher with the same dedication.
