Campbell Music Studio
About
The Campbell Music Studio's expressed objective is to help students develop lifetime musical skills by providing the highest calibre of music instruction in a non-competitive atmosphere emphasizing a love of music. Piano instruction blends a concept-based approach with specific technical strategies, always presenting music which is appropriate to a child's age and development. We are able to teach students from age 3 to adults with great success.
Take pride in the the skills our students have learned from us and that they can differentiate between a good or bad musical performance. That our students ask for a keyboard when they are in college. They love music because of what we taught them. That they never want to go home at the end of their lessons because we are here to teach. We show them how to execute or practice with analysis, what to look out for and how to use their hands in the most efficient way. We make solving challenges fun and rewarding. We grew up in families of piano teachers, we have been teaching since we were teenagers and the love of teaching has never left us. We have kept in touch with our students even when they are grown and have children.

How did you get started teaching?
We started teaching when we were in high school and never stopped because we find it fulfilling to see students learn about music and love it. Our parents were piano teachers (Music Teacher of the Year), published composer for educational piano pieces and books. One of the instructors has a recording as the piano soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with a cadenza composed by himself with a rave review from the London Times. We enjoy teaching students from the beginning so we can see them blossom over the years without bad habits.

Work with a teacher that cares and know how to teach. Having lessons do not mean playing notes, it means learning how music is put together, to understand what music is about; learning how to use your hands efficiently so not to fight your body; how to practice to get satisfying results; how to convey the beauty of music; learn analytical skills that are useful for other areas of study; a teacher that will make you love playing the piano.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How a teacher teaches and not "How much do you charge".
