Meet High Note Music Founder, Rebecca!

Rebecca is a singer, pianist, and actor based in New York with a masters degree in Opera from Bard College, Longy School of Music. Rebecca has over 15 years of teaching experience and enjoys helping students of every age and stage reach their musical potential! Her students have received acceptance to schools and programs including the Hartt Conservatory of Music, Ithaca Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, the Broadway Actors Alliance and more.
Rebecca began playing piano at age 5 and eventually began her study of voice and theatre in high school. Since moving to New York in 2016, Rebecca has performed in Off-Broadway productions, sung in various concerts and cabarets and has been featured in several films, commercials, and other on-camera productions.
Rebecca believes in creating a warm and nurturing environment for all her students, while simultaneously providing high quality musical and arts education. This philosophy applies to all that study with her, from the youngest piano learners to advanced vocalists preparing for a performance.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Interested in lessons? Great! Please message me and we can discuss setting up your first session, my studio policies as well as answer any questions you may have. I so look forward to working with you!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing piano since the age of 4 and developed my love of singing as a teenager. Since college I have been an active performer and education throughout Canada and the USA. Currently, I am working as a professional actor and singer in both Theatre and Film. Feel free to check out my website for more about my performance based work!

In Person lessons: 30 minute lesson: $45.00 1 hour lesson: $75.00
Skype lessons: 30 minute lesson: $35.00 1 hour lesson: $65.00
How did you get started teaching?
In addition to my own performing, teaching was always something I have had a passion and need to pursue. I began working with theatre programs before I started college and music directing various shows. I was a voice and piano teacher during my college years and continued to teach after college, taking on various faculty positions once I completed my masters degree.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught ages 4-65, all ages and stages of learning!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had the pleasure of working on a new musical as an actor/singer. The project first started with a run in Brooklyn and then moved to an Off-Broadway theatre in fall, 2017. It was an incredible experience to be part of the growth, development and success of a work I got to be with from the inception.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask questions and have a trial lesson! The right teacher will take the time to make sure you feel great about the working you are doing. The right fit is the most important thing when beginning a new student/teacher relationship.
