Dylan Meistrich Music School
About
My name is Dylan Meistrich and I’ve been teaching guitar both privately and in group classes for almost 15 years. I have a Bachelors in Music Degree from Berklee College of Music (Cum Laude), as well as a Masters in Music Composition from UCSB, for which I received a full scholarship. Currently, I am the senior guitar instructor and band director at School of Rock Green Valley, a performance based youth music academy for k-18.
My comprehensive teaching method is individually tailored to each student based on their specific needs and their own unique learning style. I teach all styles of guitar, including rock, classical, flamenco, metal, jazz, fusion, and everything else under the sun, as well as all ages and skill levels (my youngest student is 7, my oldest is 56). My learning method for beginners starts with basic fundamentals of the instrument, learning how to play their favorite song (in a simplified way), and then examining the music theory behind their favorite tunes to understand why it works. This includes basic scale practice, sight reading, as well as ear training and improvisation techniques, all done in a fun and exciting way to keep the student engaged and passionate about learning.
I also have a 10 year background in film and television composing, and have worked with some of the top composers in their field. You can read more information about me and listen to some of my film/tv scores at www.dylanmeistrichmusic.com.
I teach remotely through the Zoom app, or Skype or any other available app that my clients might prefer. Rates are 30 for 30 minutes, or 45 for an hour. Rates can also be negotiable depending on specific circumstances.
Please reach out if you have any questions and I look forward to hearing from you.
