Studied music at both CSN and UNLV in Las Vegas and also with two different master teachers for over 10 years. I have been playing the guitar for 35 years and teaching for 20 years. I was also the guitar department manager for a music school with over 400 guitar students and supervised and taught the guitar teachers how to teach more effectively.

I was first hired by a music store that was looking for qualified teachers to expand their school.

I have worked with all ages from 6 years old to 70 years old. Also, I have taught students interested in learning all syles of music.

I had a student who recieved a free guitar for a promotion that I was running. He couldn't stop smiling for a week.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher can teach you all facets of music and not just show you where to put your fingers.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about which teacher is going to help them become a musician and not only a guitar player.
