Guitarist and composer Giorgos Nazos from Athens Greece is described in the “Jazz and Jazz” magazine as a sophisticated and imaginative player and one of the most creative and nonconformist musicians of the local scene.
After completing his studies in Political Science and History in Panteion University Athens he decided to devote himself completely to music and moved to study first in Switzerland in the Swiss Jazz school of Bern and then To Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam in the Netherlands from where he received a BA jazz performance in guitar.
Whether he is leading his own groups or invited by fellow musicians as a sideman his playing is always characterized as authentic, energetic and highly communicative. He is performing with great success in festivals music clubs and venues all around Greece, Israel, Belgium and the Netherlands. He has been featured in the Jazz and jazz CD collection “Summer jazz Flirt Fresh sounds of the Greek scene” and in the debut CD of the Israeli singer Tamuz Nissim
.His debut CD entitled “Confused Colors” will be published June 2014. He is also a dedicated teacher having taught in The Philippos Nakas Conservatory and the Ethniko Odeio ( National Conservatory) of Greece.His compositions are melodic and appealing and at the same time manage to combine complicated rhythmical ides and beautiful harmonies.
