Hello, I’m Merit Gentile-- a touring and session musician, educator, and photographer currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in Philadelphia, I relocated to Nashville in my early 20s to pursue a professional career in music. During my time there, I refined my artistic practice, blending visual and musical expression with a focus on place, community, and human flourishing.
I bring over ten years of experience as a touring musician, session player, and instructor, alongside extensive professional involvement in the music industry, including physical distribution, record and merchandise acquisition, and marketing and social media management. I hold a degree in Music Therapy and Jazz Guitar from Temple University, and have taught both private and group lessons across a wide range of skill levels.
As an educator, I am especially committed to helping students build confidence through a strong foundation of musical knowledge-- demystifying the instrument, developing technical fluency, and fostering critical listening and creative independence. I look forward to connecting and working together beyond the screen!
