About
Hello!! My name is Prachi and I am an incoming junior at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU. I've been playing guitar for around 8 years and decided to start offering lessons to kids in my neighborhood during the pandemic in 2020. This grew to my friends' friends, their siblings, and so on. I've since learned that encouraging others to pursue a passion so close to my heart is one of my favorite things, and that is first and foremost what I aim to do through my lessons.
Admittedly, I was one of the kids who began lessons at the age of 8 (without any real interest), refused to practice, got bored of the instrument, and quit within a year. However, what drove me to indulge in it again was my late-blossoming love for music in high school. This all goes to say, I am a huge believer in prioritizing what YOU want to learn--whether it's to be able to play your favorite songs, fluently sightread guitar tabs, or develop an all-around comfortability with the instrument.
Personally, I adore the fingerpicking style; most of the songs I write contain some sort of intricate guitar melody/pattern, but it definitely took hours of practice to reach that stage. Over the years, I have gathered several tips and tricks I'd be happy to share with you! I am devoted to the idea that you learn the most through your own experiences and that, eventually, you'll have your own book of tips you can share with others too :)
If you have a passion for music that you want to explore further through guitar in a relaxed but productive environment, I am the right fit for you!! Hope to see you soon :)
