About
I've been studying and playing in bands for over 25 years. I switch between bass and electric guitar depending on the project and situation. I am also a recording engineer specializing in Rock and Blues music. I teach classes at NYU in sound recording. What makes me different from many other teachers is I not onlyn have a strong knowledge of the electric guitar and bass I also posess a vast knowledge of performace, audio technologies and recording engineering. I am also the founder of Sound Laboratories. Sound Laboratories designs custom guitar and bass guitar pickups.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The student should be ready to work and learn muscle memory and ear training exersizes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took private lessons as teenager in bass, guitar and piano. I hold an MFA in Film and BA in Communications Film and Video.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer the lessons to be paid in advance. 5 lessons at a time.
How did you get started teaching?
I was asked to teach lessons from friends and family at an early age. I started working at NYU in 2003.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all kinds of students from all over the world.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I played a show in Time Square with my original punk rock band. The venue was wondeful and filled with a lot of wonderful people.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you like. Find an instructor who is not just a wizzard at his/her craft but someone you feel comfortable learning from. I've had many teachers who's credecials were amazing however their human skills needed much work. I fortunately found a teacher who became one of the greatest infuences of my life. I met him when I was 12 years old. As I grew older I became his raodie and we have been friends for life.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Will this instructor be able to hold my interest, teach me necesarry techniques and help me grow as a musician.
