My 6-year old daughter has been taking lessons with Jessica for six months, and the progress has been amazing! Jessica is incredibly patient and really knows how to make lessons fun and engaging for kids. She adapts her teaching to fit my daughter’s pace and interests, which keeps her excited about practicing. She is professional, always punctual, and communicates clearly about what we should work on between lessons. I love how involved she is — she gives me weekly updates on my daughter’s progress and gives helpful tips for at-home practice. We feel so lucky to have found her!

She is great with kids. My 6yo had only 2 lessons with her but they already started reading/understanding music notes for beginners, which is amazing.

Jessica is an awesome instructor! She is always patient, thoughtful, encouraging, and attentive. Using positive reinforcement, she points out good things Im doing and offers additional tips. Every lesson has gone by so quickly and has taught me so much. Its awesome to see myself improving and to have a teacher who is as equally excited about it as I am. Her lessons are structured but personalized, which is exactly what works. Her years of experience with the piano really shine through and you can feel confident knowing that you are working with someone who really knows their stuff. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to start piano from scratch or who is wanting to take their skills to the next level.

She’s such a patient instructor! She plays so beautifully and motivates her students, keeping “homework” fun so you want to practice. Jess finds what areas you specifically need improvement on and suggests drills that work for you. She’s also really kind, successful, and welcoming so it’s also nice to speak to her as a friend

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master’s degree in piano performance from the Mannes School of Music, where I also taught Piano 1 to undergraduate music majors whose primary instrument wasn’t piano. I’m a Steinway Educational Partner, and my training combines classical conservatory education with a passion for helping students of all ages connect deeply with music.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve worked with a wide range of students—from curious little ones as young as 3 to adult beginners and amateurs rediscovering their love for music. Each student brings something unique, and I love adapting my approach to fit their stage and goals
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who builds on who you are first—someone who helps you develop your ear, grow musically from the inside out, and creates an environment where you truly enjoy making music.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about how much time and energy you're ready to commit, what your goals are—whether it's playing for fun, performing, or building solid skills—and how you learn best. Do you like structure or flexibility? Do you enjoy learning by ear, by reading, or a mix? The more you know about what works for you, the better a teacher can support your growth
