About
I'm a concert pianist, recording artist and a dedicated teacher with an extensive teaching experience for over a decade. I've been professionally trained in Russia and New York and received a Master's degree in Piano Performance. I'm a recipient of many international music awards and I've given solo recitals and concerto performances throughout Europe and the U.S. I also collaborated with the renowned musicians and appeared in most esteemed concert halls in subsequent concert series. I offer piano lessons for children and adults. My lessons comprise music theory, technique development, music reading and performance coaching. I have students who want to play just for fun and students who wish excel with the Royal exams and prepare for the recitals or auditions. My students frequently participate at competitions and festivals at major NYC venues. I also organize Student's Piano Recitals twice a year. A positive attitude and interactive approach are the foundations of my lessons. I love to spread the passion of music to all of my students!
I am trying to bring to my students satisfaction and enjoyment of learning music and motivate them by emphasizing on the artistry, creativity and bringing out a self-expression. I believe that allowing students to show their creativity is a key to having a successful music experience. I've been focusing on early age technique and have developed a teaching style that provides each student a solid musical foundation while encouraging individuality.
I accomodate each student's learning style and make sure each of them accomplishes their desired goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a student includes teaching music fundamentals: Hand Position, Scales (various types), proper basic technique (playing with correct posture, wrist motions, arm relaxation). From the first lesson I develop skills in music theory and train in playing with a steady beat and an accurate rhythm. I teach the absolute beginners, not just how to play the piano, but teach them how to read notes, rhythmic notation, chords, sound technique and understand music for yourself. For the youngest students I usually stick with Piano Book series by Bastien/Alfred/Faber/Hal Leonard and choose supplemental recital songs that suit to student's level and abilities. Over the course of studies students will play a few contrasting pieces in different musical styles, I also encourage students to select any songs that they prefer to play.
-I tend to clearly explain and demonstrate (play) to a student rather than get them play right away.
-Give a student the assignments and indicate the exact time and guidelines for practicing alone.
-Creating an inspiring atmosphere and an entertaining environment.
-Encourage student for the performance opportunities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-MM, Queens College, NYC, Piano Performance
-BA, Central Music School of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Russia, Piano Performance
How did you get started teaching?
I've began teaching music lessons since 2009 in my native country of Russia. When I moved to the U.S. (in 2011) I have worked in various music institutions includig Stamford Music and Arts Academy in CT, Long Island Conservatory of Music and different music schools throughout NYC. I've been working as a private teacher with students one-on-one and have had my own studio for many years. I specialize in working with students 5 y.o. and up of all skill levels and I've had excellent results with my students. I've helped hundreds of students to pursue their musical interests. I found it equally gratifying to work with advanced or beginner pianists.
