About
I’m a multi-instrumentalist and composer based here in Brooklyn, NY. I studied composition with Eric Ewazen, and music theory with Steve Laitz, at the Juilliard Pre-College. I also studied violin under Emlyn Ngai (at the Hartt School) for 5 years. As a composer, I'm very interested in helping students find their own musical personality, reflecting in the repertoire they study and music they're exposed to.
I love helping students to realize their own musical potential through the technique of their instrument. Helping a student to develop their own unique musical personality is somthing I'm very passionate about. I also find it very fulfilling being able to help students surmount technical barriers and learn more about their music/instrument so they can become well-rounded and curious artists.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson will begin with me figuring out where the student currently is in their instrumental experience and their more general musical journey. From here, I'll choose some repertoire/approaches that I've determined are appropriate for their level and we'll begin work. Most lessons will include time spent on technique/exercises, repertoire, and sight reading.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied composition with Eric Ewazen, and music theory with Steve Laitz, at the Juilliard Pre-College. I also studied violin under Emlyn Ngai (at the Hartt School) for 5 years. During my senior year, I was a TA for Hall High School’s Concert Orchestra and I worked as an assistant teacher during the 2021 Sizzling Suzuki Institute at Charter Oak Elementary School. I've also taken classes with Jacob Adler, Brandon Rolle, and Cristopher Cresswell. I'm currently in the New York Youth Symphony's composition program.
