About
I’m a multi-instrumentalist and composer based here in Brooklyn, NY. I have a diploma in Music Composition from the Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio, with Harvard, and before that I studied composition with Eric Ewazen, and music theory with Steve Laitz, at the Juilliard Pre-College. I also studied violin under Emlyn Ngai (Hartt School) for 5 years.
I love helping students to realize their own musical potential through the techniques of their instrument, or those of composition and theory. I also find it very fulfilling being able to help students surmount technical barriers and learn more about their music/instrument so they can become well-rounded and curious artists.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson will begin with me figuring out where the student currently is in their instrumental experience and their more general musical journey. From here, I'll choose some repertoire/approaches that I've determined are appropriate for their level and we'll begin work. Most lessons will include time spent on technique/exercises, repertoire, and sight reading.
