Barbara Brand Silverman Voice/Piano Lessons

My 17 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Barbara for the past 5 years. In additions to voice, she has learned piano, sight reading and music theory. Barbara’s focus on teaching fundamental skills, sound basics and how to properly warm up and care for your voice have allowed my daughter not just to learn to sing but to grow and develop independently as a singer. Barbara’s knowledge and expertise equal what you would expect to find in music conservatory voice professors, and in fact, my daughter has had college professors and other professionals complement “whoever is your voice teacher” after hearing her perform. We are truly grateful for the expert instruction, caring and dedication Barbara provides and would highly recommend her to any singer at any level.

So many things! Not only is she very knowledgeable about what she teaches, but shes good at making it relatable and enjoyable. Shes also firm enough to help me push forward while being gentle enough to boost morale and keep me confident rather than discouraged. Working with Barbara helped me develop a deeper love of music, experience growth in my musicianship, and develop confidence that helps me even outside of music lessons. Im grateful to have been studying her for the past 4 years!
