About

My teaching is tailored to each individual student. I use a variety of teaching approaches, some with method books, some with classical music, and some with popular music, depending on the goals and interests of the student. I endeavor to create lessons that are engaging and challenging within a fun learning environment. I hold Doctoral and Masters degrees from the University of Cinncinati, and a Bachelors degree from Wheaton College.

What I love most about teaching music is being able to communicate the joy of music to my students. It is incredibly fulfilling to see students progress and learn to express themselves through music. To achieve this goal, I strive to create a friendly, positive environment and to understand each student's individual learning styles, creating lessons that can maximize the learning experience for each student.

Both my kids take lessons here- my daughter takes guitar and my son takes piano. The guitar teacher (Dan) is very patient, and is really great at helping my daughter learn the songs she enjoys. The piano teacher (Laura) is great with beginners and keeps my young son interested with lots of games and fun activities in the lesson.
