What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I love to get to know each student before we even begin the lesson!  I always ask about their background in music and what they would like to acheive.  It's also great to know about their school or job experience plus hobbies!  We talk about the type of instrument used for daily practice plus practice routine.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Graduate of James Madison University, B.A. in Music

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

GLSM individual lesson rate is $27 / 30 Minutes, however, we offer package deals, such as 4 Thirty Min. Lessons for $99!

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching privately in my home as well as for the Cleveland Music School Settlement!  After doing this for 10 years, I decided to open my own school of music, which I did in 1996!

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages and all levels, private and group lessons!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Great Lakes Music Festival, sponsored by Great Lakes School of Music!  Our last Festival took place March 26, 2016!  Student performed before a panel of 3 judges in all genres and disciplines.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look into teaching credentials, years of experience and ages / levels the teacher enjoys the most

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Am I able to make a commitment to attend lessons and practice regularly?

Do I have the proper instrument for practice?
