About this pro

I spend more time than most for less money. I write my own songs and have recorded. Although I don't do this for a living I have been around guitar and music for 30 years.

LOVE seeing people learn and RUN with what I teach them.
It means more than any amount of money paid and again that's why i spend more time than most for less money than most charge.

Keith is an amazing teacher! He's friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him for guitar lessons.

Keith is a great easy-going teacher who is very observant and sensitive to the needs of the student. He started me off by teaching me some simple chords and a 4-chord song that really impressed me and helped me get comfortable with fingering and strumming techniques. He then started incorporating music theory which I believe is a good way to do it. When I practice scales and patterns, and always go back to that first song because I'm getting pretty good at (and those who don't know any better think I've been playing for years). I love to end on a positive note - and that is exactly how Keith teaches.

Definitely Heartfelt and sincere. Playing became fun! Not tedious or boring but I looked forward to practice and to getting better.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Learn finger positions for chords.
Learn how to tune a guitar without a tuner.
Learn to practice and develop dexterity.
Learn how to 'hear' songs and add words.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

30 years of playing. My own style. My love for music translated into songs and expression. I also am a worship leader and that's a big part of this. Praising the Creator!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$15/ half hour

For me a half hour lesson is just enough to get started.
I can do hour lessons for $20 but either way is fine.

How did you get started teaching?

Friends asking me to teach them

What types of students have you worked with?

Young and Old. Experienced and new learners. As a teacher I find that I am still learning to teach and acquiring more skills for my own playing.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Hmmmmmm, my wife's vegetable soup for dinner?

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for experience. Book knowledge can take you just so far.
Experiencing anything gives you a knowing that is yours. I would also look for passion. This is something that makes my life fun and expressive. People love to create and this does just that!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are you looking to accomplish. What is the goal? A past time? A serious study as in a career? What kind of music do you want to learn and possibly why?
