About
I am an experienced teacher who has been teaching on and off for over 25 years. I am a member of the Beavercreek piano teachers group and Ohio Music Teacher’s.
I was the pianist for Stage Lefters drama group's band under direction of Debbie Johnson (Debray Music) and Kristin Talbert, former piano teacher.
I have played for many church functions including offertories and cantatas.
I have also continued study with a teacher who teaches teachers to stay sharp myself.
I love seeing that "lightbulb" of joy show up on a student's face when they progress to the next level in even small ways.
Encouraging students with praise and affirmation mixed in with the needed instruction keeps them motivated.
I also see what types of music they gravitate to and gear their assignments that direction.
What I enjoy most about teaching piano is seeing Students progress and see that lightbulb turn on when they discover something new about music!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If they are brand new to Music I start out with the beginning curriculum that I use and engage the students by asking them questions as we go along. This helps me get to know them better because I take a very individualized approach to teaching music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a full line of musical study with my private teachers and had some college at the University of Dayton. I have been teaching on and off for over 40 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes it is $18 for a half hour lesson but half hour lessons are only for the very young and very beginning. Soon I like to go into a 45 minute lesson for $27 As a half hour lesson at that point is simply too short and we can't complete everything we need to.
