My children have taken piano from the Music Palette since it opened several years ago, and before that my son took private lessons from the owner, Jessica Heitmeyer. The teachers and staff at Music Palette are excellent--wonderful musicians, and very responsive to all of their students questions and needs. There are a number of programs that Music Palette offers beyond just lessons. I have really enjoyed seeing my children thrive and develop their piano skills in such a supportive environment. I highly recommend the studio if you or your child is interested in music lessons!

I’ve been taking piano lessons at The Music Palette studio for 2 yrs.
Deciding to learn the piano as an adult with The Music Palette studio has been the best decision, and a wonderful experience. Everyone there makes you feel so supported in your musical journey.
The studio excels in teaching children as well as adults. They offer classes in Ukele, piano, drums, guitar and violin. They can teach on classical, jazz, gospel or pop. The teachers are professional and personal and they all have advanced degrees in music. The teachers playing skills are amazing!
To keep practice fun for the kids, they offer incentives like charms to encourage them to log their home practice time.
We are offered plenty of opportunities to play in recitals which support the community, like playing in hospitals and nursing homes, put on by the studio.
Quarterly, the adults have evening recitals, which is set up like a supper club with candles and table cloths. We get to play the pieces we’ve been practicing. We are all on different playing levels and everyone is supportive. It is a fun evening to meet the other adult students and teachers.
The studio notifies us of performances by accomplished musicians at places like Capital University, etc and encourages us to attend.
The studio is highly organized administratively and they keep us well informed with quarterly newsletters.
All the rooms at the studio are named after composers. Some rooms have baby grand pianos and others studio pianos. We get experience on both. Artwork is displayed in every room.
Working full-time and traveling for my job at times makes practice a challenge, but my teacher Esther takes my weeks of travel into consideration when setting my weekly goals.
The Music Palette Studio annually participates in the nationally recognized Music Guild program.
I am very pleased to be a student at The Music Palette Studio.

Weve been so happy to be part of Music Palette. Our oldest daughter was a student at the founding 6 years ago (shameless bragging :) ) and has become a great young musician during that time. She started with private lessons and has a knack for classical pieces. Our second daughter started into the Musikgarten program which uses a contemporary group format starting with fundamentals, progressing into keyboard instruction. Shes developed a love for music and has learned sight reading as well as transposition much earlier than Id have ever guessed possible. Our pre-k son is excited to become a Music Palette student soon too. Its great because we know that the piano instruction is fantastic and the options to branch into other instruments seems endless. Were a proud Music Palette family!

Music Palette is more than music lessons. It is like an extended family that goes above and beyond to inspire and encourage my child to love music and be the best she can be. My daughter loves going to her piano and voice lessons. Everyone that works there is fantastic and passionate about music.

We work with students of all ages, abilities, and goals. We believe everyone has the ability to learn to play music beautifully.

We provide many recital performance and competition opportunities for our students, and we include many outreach events through the CeOMTA (Central Ohio Music Teachers Association). We also provide fun and educational environments to practice performing in-studio among musical peers.

We recommend asking your prospective teacher about their education, experience, and most importantly their teaching philosophy. We believe in a very gentle, humane approach to meeting students where they are, whether competition-oriented or just learning to play for their own enjoyment, to maximize their learning potential.
