TESTIMONIALS
Randy Villars is one of the strongest and most complete musicians I know in this area of the country. His technique, stylistic diversity, and musicality playing both the saxophone and the piano are exceptional. I truly enjoy performing music with him in any situation in which I have the opportunity.
‐ Phil DeGreg, Cincinnati Pianist and Professor of Jazz Studies at University of Cincinnati, CCM
Dear World,
Randy Villars is a master musician. Ive recorded with him numerous times and the reaction in the studio control room when hes tracking sax or piano is always giddy, jaw‐dropping amazement at his virtuosity and good taste. Hes created arrangements for my compositions that make me look like a whiz; I gotta give credit where its due! A day spent in his company is a lucky day for any musician whether at a gig or in a studio or classroom.
I know Im just another voice in the choir raving about the guy but its all true. Plus, hes funny, fun to be with and bears his incredible gift with genuine humility. Whats not to love?
Sincerely,
Rob Fetters, Professional Singer/Songwriter/Commercial Music Producer
I took saxophone lessons from Randy for a year before returning to college to complete my bachelor degree in music at the University of Cincinnati College‐Conservatory of Music. Randy was very helpful to me in preparing for my audition. Randy’s ability to play piano so well along with woodwind instruments really adds to his teaching capabilities. He is able to provide the visual aid of the keyboard to enhance lessons with his students. Along with Randy’s vast musical knowledge and technique, his great enthusiasm for music and generous spirit make him one of the area’s finest music teachers.
‐ Paula Pease, former student
Randy is truly a great musician and teacher and composer. I have had the pleasure to know and work with him for many years and it continues. His has great respect for the music. I recommend him highly for anyone seeking a true and sincere professional that teaches it with the same passion as he plays it.
‐ Greg Abate , Grammy‐nominated jazz alto saxophonist and faculty member at Rhode Island College
Composer and Educator Randy Villars has created and documented his study of music, specific to improvisation in a comprehensive and developmental approach. Written as a text delivering music secrets, it proves easy and practical to follow. Some knowledge of music is necessary, however his method can be used by the intermediate musician as well as the working professional. The serious attention to detail highlights Mr. Villars’ true intention, which is to make jazz education available to everyone.
‐ Claude Lucien Thomas former Director of the Award‐winning Stivers School For The Arts Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble and lead alto saxophonist with Ray Charles
