About
Hello!
Whether you are brand new to playing the guitar or just want to brush up on the basics, you have found the right place.
My objective is simple: Let's have fun!
I am flexible in my teaching style. If you want a more formal approach, I can teach you how to read music and play melodies & chords of some of your favorite songs.
If you want to skip over the formalities and get right down to playing the chords or riffs of your favorite songs, we can start here. Emphasis will be on chords, chord inversions, basic improvisation and reading sheet music.
I aim to please, so let me know where you want to go with learning guitar.
Qualifications: Rick has played both acoustic and electric guitar for 30+ years in bands and as a soloist, having performed at over 2,0000 engagements. For more information call Rick at 440-465-1725 or visit www.domari.net.
Thank you!
Rick Iacoboni

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As previously noted, the first lesson is always FREE. It gives the student an opportunity to become familiar with my teaching methodology. It helps me to check out their guitar and gauge their commitment. We discuss what their desired outcome is and, moving forward, the steps we need to take to meet their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training came through playing guitar at over 3,000 engagements both in a six-piece horn band and as an event musician.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $100 for four consectutive, one-on-one, 30 minute lessons in my home studio. I reserve 45 minutes for each lesson in the event each lesson runs longer or the student is running late. My cancellation policy is flexible.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching guitar came out of my life-long passion of playing guitar. My motivation comes from the gratification of helping a student get from Point A to Point B. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students who are committed to learning the guitar.
What types of students have you worked with?
My students have ranged in age from age 11 to age 73!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I was invited to a talent show by one of my students to perform a song that I taught her. I was so proud of her! The audience gave her a standing ovation!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I recommend finding a guitar teacher who is more motivated by helping a student learn the instrument than teaching as a way of earning an income. There needs to be some balance. Make sure the teacher has the student's best interest in mind.
Also ensure that the teacher is flexible in re-scheduling lessons without a charge if a life-event occurs, i.e. sickness, school or work activity, funeral, doctor appointment, vacation, etc. It's impossible for a student to make every lesson.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) Ask about the teacher's cancellation policy if either the student or teacher has to cancel a lesson.
2) Ask about how the teacher will customize his/her teaching to meet your needs.
3) Ask what the teacher's expectations are regarding how much a student should practice between lessons.
