Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We take great care in placing students with teachers who we believe will be the right fit. Building good rapport with the students from the very beginning is extremely important to us. Once a student is scheduled with a teacher, the teacher discerns the student's ability and goals. From there, the teacher chooses repertoire and materials based on the student's interests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Music Education. All of our teachers are qualified to teach private lessons.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer both in home lessons as well as lessons at our studio location in New Albany, OH.
In Home Lessons: $30/half hour ($120/month)
Studio Lessons: $26/half hour ($104/month)
How did you get started teaching?
I, like our other instructors, have been studying music since an early age. I continued my training and study through my adolescent years and began teaching private lessons in college.
What types of students have you worked with?
We teach all ages, most instruments, and people from a variety of backgrounds. We have students who have never played an instrument before as well as students who have played for most of their lives. We have worked with students who have special needs and students who are as old as 85. GnG Music Instruction provides music lessons to anyone who has a desire to learn.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently had our fall recital for our students and it was great! Anyone who takes lessons with us can participate. We have two recitals a year - one in the spring and one in the fall. It is always a fun time for our students to showcase what they've learned and worked so hard to prepare.
