About
I teach piano at my home studio. I take students grade one through adults. Students learn the "Tools of Music" enabling them to find their way around the keyboard: scales, chords, arpeggios, progressions and inversions, ear training. A popular project with my students is composing their own piece! I encourage good technique and musical expression. I give practice ideas so each piece can be taken to the next level! There are many styles of music exciting to learn, including classical (a must), Broadway, popular, holidays, hymns, country, jazz, ethnic, and more. There are opportunities for performance such as Studio Recitals, Piano Guild, Scale Olympics, and Out & About.
Miriam says, "The piano is by far the best instrument for studying music! Learning the piano opens up the world of music and gives the player a lifetime skill to enjoy."
I love teaching music! I like seeing students enjoy making music.
