About
Are you looking for one on one attention in your yoga practice? Are you pregnant or postpartum, and wanting a yoga practice specifically tailored to you and your needs (labor preparation, learning different breathing techniques; redeveloping core and pevlic floor strength; etc)? Do you sit at a desk all day and would like to stretch and open your body in the ways it needs to? I come to the table with the ability to help people in many walks of life, find and develop a yoga practice that is right for them; while being in the comfort and convenience of their home.
I naturally use more of a slow-flow Hatha style teaching of yoga. Really allowing the practitioner to hold and feel their body in the poses, focus on proper alignment (developing that mind/body connection); and we focus on deep breathing through the pose (which is not only helpful for being in the pose but also has many other beneficial effects on the mind and body). I can also teach a variety of other styles and am really here to provide the type of yoga you are looking for. We will work together to build a practice that is right for you, where you're at today.
I have been teaching yoga since 2014; in a variety of classes & settings. I am Yoga Alliance certified with a 200 hr yoga teacher training; I have completed an additional 85 hr pre-natal and postpartum teacher training; and I have gone through a 14 hr trauma-informed yoga training. I am also CPR/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross.
I love meeting people where they are at and helping them really develop a personal, in-depth yoga practice. It brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction to watch them develop not only in the individual poses (even though that is fun), but also in how having a private yoga practice can positively impact their day to day lives, even impacting their way of thinking and being.

We would find a time to meet outside the home to discuss where you are coming from, and what you are looking to build or create in your yoga practice; then we would come up with a teaching schedule that works for us both.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is $65 per hour, for me to come to your home and provide you with a yoga practice that is customized to your current wants and needs; this can also include detailed homework (if wanted) for you to work on in between sessions; via written instructions or short instructional videos.
How did you get started teaching?
I found my own yoga practice in 2013, after believing for too long that you had to be fit and thin to practice yoga. Then, at 200 pounds, I was embarrassed to go to group classes; but thankfully found a teacher who showed me that yoga is so much more than the physical aspect (though that part is wonderful). Then through yoga, I did develop a much healthier lifestyle and way of thinking; and eventually became a much healthier person, inside and out. Knowing when I started my own practice that I had to get the training and learn how to bring all yoga had given me, to others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with individual students; and two students practicing together (husband and wife; mother and daughter); I've worked with a family (parents and an adult child, wanting to enjoy the practice together); I've worked in a variety of class settings, teaching hatha style yoga; vinyasa style classes; restorative yoga; prenatal yoga; and postpartum yoga.
