About
"Neither a lofty degree of intelligence, nor imagination, nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius." W.A. Mozart
The most important thing to teach students is to fall in love with making music. I incorporate a traditional teaching style of theory, technique, ear training and composition with the fun of improvisation and teaching songs upon request. Music should be recreational, yet goals are an important part of any type of study. I often make goals to record and achieve personal best times on flashcards. I also offer opportunities to take standardized testing, perform in small and large venues, and even enter performance and composition competitions. These are made possible through my membership with the OMTA. I love teaching all ages, but have the most availability for adults or home school students.
