Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A beginning student will first learn a proper seating position and get an overview of the kinds and ranges of motion. The care of the right hand nails usually takes a few weeks to get them grown out to the proper length to manicure them well enough to try to produce a good sound. The first order of business for fingerboard knowledge is to start learning the positions of the 18 natural motes in the first position and how to play them with good mechanical advantage for the weaker fingers of tge left hand. The first pieces are usually by either Sagreras, Kufner, Carcassi, Sor, or Giuliani.
More advanced studends we might warm up with a couple Abel Carlevaro exercises and scales and then begin repertoire studies of any number of pieces from my vast library of great music for solo or duo guitar.
Then we might finish the lesson with a chat and a cup of tea.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
