Buck's Music Lessons

I have a standard set of chords and songs for beginners to work with, but I also highly encourage them to bring me songs that they want to learn as well. I encourage beginners(and anyone) to learn to read music for at least the basics.

First lessons include names of the guitar strings and tuning them, a few exercises for each hand, and a few beginner chords.

I studied at Berklee College of Music, with Guitar as my main instrument.

While there I studied composition, guitar performance, and film score.

I typically charge $25 per half hour lesson. As I drive to my students for lessons this usually means I slot a full hour for the lesson, so often we have extra time.

Hour lessons are available, as well as lessons for multiple members of a family. There is always a discount in these cases, discussed with the customer in every case.

If I have to drive over 30 minutes to reach you, I may charge more for the extra time and gas as well.

I started teaching in 2001, when a bandmate mentioned that the store that he worked at was hiring guitar teachers. Teaching guitar is the best and most rewarding job that I have ever had, and I hope to do it as long as possible.

All ages from 5 to 85.

All levels from beginner to professional musician.

Watching Empire Strikes Back with my nephew? This is unrelated to guitar(other than the fantastic music!) but it was the first thing that came to mind.

Practice. As much as you can. Be present when you practice, no distractions from TV, phones, games, family.
