Lou Pompilio

I take time to get to know my students and understand their musical ability and their goals. My goal is to make music easy and fun for those I teach.

I love when students really take a shine to playing the guitar.

There is a inner glow that warms the inside of anyone who really does their job.

Lou is a very knowledgeable jazz guitarist who not only teaches but also composes and arranges music. I have studied with Lou for the past year.He has opened up my mind and the entire neck of the guitar in a simple, logical fashion. In my opinion, Lou is one of the best. His method of teaching is simple and to the point. His $ are reasonable.

Studying with Professor Lou Pompilio has not only taught me how to develop technical proficiency with my guitar, but also much more. He teaches utilizing Berklee principles as well as his own unique gifts that have evolved over the decades. Lou has imparted the very mindset and perspective of a musical artist. If you study with Lou, you will learn to feel the music with your ears, and think the music with your fingers. You will become a living instrument that breathes music through your guitar. You will learn how to master covers, compose originals, and create your own special brand of vocal stylings. If you study with Lou, your life will change forever, and for the better. Thank you Maestro!

Lou has complete command of the subject of music and transfers that knowledge to his students in an easy and enjoyable manner. He is very encouraging and motivating and has an extremely effective teaching method. I have learned so much from Lou and appreciate all he has done to make me a much better musician.

He’s very knowledgeable and patient. He writes out chords and exercises beyond what is in the guitar book which is very helpful.

Lou is very enthusiastic about music and about teaching. He’s an incredible musician trained at one of the top music schools in the US, but is still a very down-to-earth guy who still remembers what it’s like when you first start playing an instrument. I really enjoy my lesson time with Lou and plan to continue.
